About
I am an osteopath and naturopath, I graduated from the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy in 1991. After I graduated I worked for Kim Burton in Huddersfield and David Sykes in Halifax. I worked in these two busy practices for 5 years before moving to Cumbernauld to set up the Good Health Centre in 1996. I have been here since although at 3 different addresses.
Whilst working in Huddersfield, I was a member of the Spinal Research Unit of Huddersfield University, where I was involved in some of the most cutting edge research into back pain, the results of which have been published in peer reviewed scientific journals such as Spine.
I contributed to two international text-books on back pain as well as winning the National Back Pain Association gold medal for original research. I have also written a number of magazine articles and newsletters on nutrition and herbal medicine.
In 2000, I completed a course in myo-facial acupuncture, for the treatment of musculo-skeletal injuries, which I have found to be a very useful adjunct to my osteopathic skills.
